Purifying Toner

The skin is naturally acidic. Some cleansers with a high pH, combined with external factors like pollution can disturb the skin's fragile pH balance. When damaged, the skin's acidic mantle can't defend itself against bacteria.

Spots and blemishes can appear on all skin types due to the presence of bacteria in the sebaceous glands. The 1% potent salicylic acid in this serum is a powerful antibacterial agent to prevent breakouts.

This purifying toner has a pH similar to our own, so works to rebalance the skin's pH after every cleanse. It also removes limestone and mineral residues present in tap water that find their way onto the skin during cleansing. Concentrated in anti-blemish active ingredients, this toner also helps to refine skin texture and limit its development of spot-causing bacteria.

  • Precautions

Discontinue use if you experience discomfort or irritation.

Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, rinse with plenty of water.

  • The actives

    Salicylic Acid (1%):

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), known for its keratolytic (peeling) and exfoliating effects that promote desquamation (elimination of dead skin). These benefits make it ideal for oily skin, acne-prone skin, skin with imperfections, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Salicylic acid is also known to limit the development of harmful microorganisms, making it an effective ingredient for cleaning and purifying the surface layers of the skin. It also helps prevent the appearance of blackheads and the clogging of pores. A molecule extracted from plants, salicylic acid was first extracted from willow bark in 1829 by a French pharmacist named Pierre-Joseph Leroux. Salicylic acid is naturally present in several plants, particularly meadowsweet and willow, from which it takes its name. The aspirin medication we know today is actually a synthetic derivative of salicylic acid (acetyl-salicylic acid). It was first manufactured in 1853 by the chemist C.F. Gerhardt.

    Centifolia Rose Hydrolate:

Also called the rose with a hundred leaves, this fragrant flower's floral water is known for its soothing properties, especially on surface irritations. The perfect calming complement to this formula's purifying action. Rich in tannins, it also offers astringent, skin-firming and pore clearing benefits that work to refine the skin's texture and appearance.

    Zinc:

Derived from beetroot, zinc is ideal for oily skin and significantly reduces sebum secretion. Coupled with L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid, Zinc promotes cell differentiation and strengthens the skin's barrier function. A trace element naturally present in the body, zinc is essential and is involved in many of the body's enzymatic mechanisms. It contributes to the good balance of this one, intervening in the metabolism of food and taking part in the reinforcement of natural defences and the renewal of tissues. Finally, zinc is also known to limit the development of microorganisms that cause many skin imbalances.

    Aloe Vera :

Rich in minerals, vitamins and amino acids, the fresh pulp from the leaves of the aloe vera plant is known to moisturise and soothe skin. Its capacity to retain water helps to fight dehydration and soften the skin too.

I have hormonal acne and this has dampened it quite a bit. My skin for the first time in my life is smooth, my pores smaller, and I no longer spend $200 a month on facials time to control my breakouts.

I've been using this toner each night for about a month, and I am definitely seeing a positive change in my skin color and texture. I will start using it 2x per day soon, I just wanted to avoid drying out my skin. Love this product.

    A very good product

    2/3/22

The LAB-1002 toner has a great effect: after just two weeks of daily use in the evening after the cleansing gel (3001), it has significantly improved the appearance of my inflamed skin. I have been suffering from perioral dermatitis (only on my chin) for three years. I have not been able to get these (hormonal) small inflammations and underlays under control with the products prescribed by my dermatologist or with other active ingredient cosmetics. Even the complete avoidance of any skin care products did not help. The cleansing gel and toner open the pores and apparently regulate the PH value of the skin. The inflammations subside without drying out the skin. The care oil / serum against impurities 1013 and the peeling serum 1015 once or twice a week also support the effect enormously. I only use the products on my chin and otherwise have great skin. I have learned: use care products with a few important active ingredients for blemished, inflamed skin and never dry out the skin. Even with spots, pimples and inflammation, the skin must remain supple so that layers of dry pimples don't clog the skin cells and cause inflammation to form underneath. I'm sticking with Typology. A start-up company with skin savvy that seems to focus on the most important active ingredients and is good for the skin. Oh yes, I also love the vitamin C serum 1002 and the hyaluronic serum 1001. The eye serum/oil 1014 also irons out fine lines around the eyes. It's great! But there is also one point of criticism: the retinol cream is unfortunately not absorbed and can be rubbed off shortly after application. Typology could perhaps switch to a different "carrier substance" that is better absorbed by the skin. I now simply use the cream as a hand cream. And I can recommend the tinted care. It covers naturally and easily. I'll stick with Typology for now and say thank you!

    Excellent

I use this every night, & sometimes in the morning (if I don’t use the peppermint hydrolate) It’s very efficient at cleaning skin of leftover soap etc. It has cleared away a few spots which I could not seem to get rid of. It’s a great product which I will be repurchasing. Another good point to mention is that it doesn’t dry my skin out, which is good.

Keep the essential.
