Inflammation
Inflammation is a natural response of the body to an assault, whether it's caused by an injury, an infection, or irritation. In the context of the skin, inflammation manifests as redness, swelling, a sensation of heat, and sometimes pain. Although it is a defence mechanism, it can become problematic when it is chronic and therefore requires appropriate care.
