INCI: Hydrolyzed wheat protein (when of plant origin) or hydrolysed keratin (when of animal origin)

Origin: Natural

Natural sources:
Vegetables & plant sources: wheat (Typology's preferred source), soybeans, corn
Animals: horns, hooves, feathers, wool

Helix shape

There are two types of Keratin :
Hard Keratin: very sulphurous and rigid, it forms our hair and nails.
Soft keratin : less sulphurous and therefore more supple, this type is found in the skin. These are large molecules (i.e. they remain on the surface of the skin, nails, and hair in order to protect them, but they don't replace natural keratin).

Hydrophilic (water-soluble)

Cosmetic properties:
HYGROSCOPICAL: Water-soluble.
ELASTIC: softens, thanks to its springy form.
FILMOGEN: forms a film on the nails and hair and protects it.
